Back This: Pugmire Fantasy Tabletop RPG

A few months ago, I kept seeing "Pugmire" being a product people were looking forward to in a RPG.Net thread devoted to "What are you looking forward to in 2016?".

I'd never heard of it, which is unusual for me, so I immediately googled it to discover it was essentially DnD with Dogs as PCs from Onyx Path.  I laughed and shook my head, and then I thought about playing or running DnD with Dogs and my mind went to such cartoons as Duck Tales, TaleSpin, and the first season of the Gummy Bears.  And then I thought about my beloved bull dogs, Lily and Humphrey.  And then I realized that this was a brilliant idea and a great way to get new players, young and old, to try role playing.

Best of all?  Its written by Eddy Webb and published by Onyx Path.  I know Eddy's work from my days as a (Old) World Of Darkness Addict and Onyx Path as the good people who kept the torch going for both Worlds of Darkness after the White Wolf/CCP merger.

Fast forward to last week and I see the Kickstarter for Pugmire is live. If you Back at any level you get a Pugmire Early Access Draft that is about as attractive as many finished products from major publishers.  And it's already funded.

Pugmire, rules wise is deeply inspired by DnD 5th Edition, but still does its own thing and does them very well.  I find several of the decisions Eddy has made to be easier for players to understand and quicker to get into playing a Good Dog.  And in the end, isn't that what this game is all about?

I can't recommend this game enough.  Back it right this minute.
