#RPGaDAY: Day 3

I am participating in the #RPGaDAY2016 blog marathon hosted by BrigadeCon

.

What is something you have done with your game character that you are the proudest of?I had a dwarven warlock, Absalom, in a DnD 4th Edition game. A spirit of darkness, Shroud, had drawn upon his bitterness towards his clan and used him to destroy them. He fled his home, everyone he knew dead, trying to escape Shroud and his own guilt.

During a fight, where our party was fighting an immense psionic monster and trapped by rising water with no easy escape, I asked the DM if I could sacrifice my character so the others could live. My plan was to invite the monster into my mind, allowing Shroud to manifest, so they would destroy each other and I would perish as my allies fled.

I felt it was a great way to find redemption for Absalom and help the party out. I appreciated that my DM allowed me to contribute to the story that way.
