Ruins of Arduin

In a thread on the excellent, I'd Rather Be Killing Monsters Facebook Group (thanks Tim Knight for creating it) I came across an awesome blog called Ruins of Arduin.

I missed out on Dave Hargrave's original books and only know of the setting through information on the internet.

I'm often late to the party on stuff and for all I know you guys have known about it for years. Not only did I discover the site, but it hosts a Swords and Wizardry powered PDF also called Ruins of Arduin and it's designed to look like one of ODnD's little brown books. The PDF is very, very I mean it's cool.

You can check the website out here and the PDF here.

Whoah! Thanks for this! I used to own the first three Arduin books when I was a kid and stupidly gave them up to someone. I still use the Arduin critical hit chart when I run D&D.

Thank you for the kind words about the new group. Glad you're enjoying it!

After I was first introduced to D&D back in the day, for some reason the original Arduin Trilogy was one of my earliest purchases (out of a classified ad in the back of White Dwarf magazine).

Those books remain one of the few treasures in my gaming collection that I've hung onto all these years (rather than sell off, regret selling, buy back).

I love them in all their gonzo glory and feel Arduin deserves to be spoken of with the same passion people use when speaking of Greyhawk, Blackmoor, and Tekumel.

That's cool - I have the Arduin trilogy and a handful of following volumes. Thanks for the link / reference!
