Something N.E.W!

Today I was accepted as one of 10 groups to begin playtesting Morrus' (of ENWorld fame) SF game N.E.W. (it's counterpart O.L.D., a fantasy RPG will be fully compatible).  Both from EN Publishing.

I've skimmed the document already and see many things I'm intrigued with.  By his own admission, Morrus borrows from some great classic and recent games to good effect.

Particularly, there are strong influences from Traveller, D6 system and the Cipher system.  However, I like how the pieces fit together and the ideas Morrus adds.  I wasn't looking for a new "universal" system but I really like what I'm reading right now (which is nice because N.E.W. could work great for the ideas of I have for Wyrd Science/Dead AGE).

I hope to get, at minimum, some character creation in this weekend.

I'll keep you posted.

Cheers.
